How to add an anonymous questions link to your Instagram story

By the Loomii team · Reviewed 10 October 2026

To get anonymous questions on Instagram, copy your personal link from an anonymous Q&A app like Loomii, create a story, tap the sticker button, choose the Link sticker and paste your link. Friends tap it and send you questions without revealing who they are.

Step 3: make the story stand out

People decide in about a second whether to tap. A few things reliably get more taps:

  • A clear question on the image itself, such as “Rate my vibe 1–10” or “Confess something, I won’t know it’s you”.
  • A big, obvious sticker near the middle of the screen — not tucked into a corner where it gets covered by the reply bar.
  • A festival or seasonal background. Loomii has dozens of story templates (Diwali, Holi, Navratri, Eid, Christmas and more) so your story doesn’t look like everyone else’s.
  • Posting in the evening, when your friends are most likely to be scrolling.

If replies slow down, switch the game. A “Rate me” story usually gets fast, short replies; “Ask me anything” gets longer ones. Our list of 100+ anonymous questions for your story has prompts that work well.

Step 4: read and reply

New messages arrive in the Loomii inbox, and you get a notification if you allow them. Tap a message to open it, then tap Reply to turn it into a new story: the app puts the question on a card so you can answer publicly without exposing who asked.

Want a hint about who sent something? Loomii can show real signals it recorded — which app the sender found your link through, their device type, and their rough area. It never shows a name, number or IP address. Read what an anonymous app can and can’t reveal before you spend coins.

Troubleshooting: link sticker not working

  • Can’t find the Link sticker? Update Instagram from the Play Store; the Link sticker replaced the old swipe-up feature and is available to all accounts.
  • Link opens a blank page? Make sure you pasted the full address including the username, e.g. loomii.link/riya, with no spaces.
  • Nobody is tapping? Make the sticker bigger, add a question to the picture, and post again later — a story only lives for 24 hours.
  • Getting mean messages? Loomii hides messages with bullying words automatically. You can add your own hidden words, block a sender or pause your link at any time. See how to stay safe.

15 caption ideas for your link sticker

The text on your Link sticker is the last thing people read before they tap. Swap “loomii.link/…” for something with a reason to click:

  • Ask me anything 👀
  • Rate me 1–10 (be nice)
  • Confess something. I’ll never know.
  • Spill the tea ☕
  • Who’s your crush? 🤫
  • Honest opinion only
  • Send me a song that reminds you of me
  • Questions for my Q&A tonight
  • First impression of me?
  • Roast me (gently)
  • Tell me something nice
  • Guess my exam result
  • Diwali wishes, anonymously 🪔
  • Help me pick an outfit
  • What should I post next?

Keep it short — two to five words fit the sticker best. Emojis help it stand out against busy photos.

Close friends or public? Choosing your audience

Who sees your story decides what kind of messages you get. A Close friends story reaches people who already know you well, so replies tend to be warmer, funnier and more personal. A public story on a big account brings more replies, but also more strangers — and strangers are more likely to send something you don’t want.

A good rhythm: start with Close friends for the deeper games (Confession, Honest opinion), and use your public story for light ones (Rate me, music questions, quizzes). If your account is public and you are under 18, keep the link to Close friends.

Keep the link alive: bio and Highlights

A story disappears after 24 hours, but your link doesn’t have to. Two easy ways to keep messages coming:

  • Bio: Edit profile → Links → Add external link, paste your Loomii link and give it a title like “Ask me anything”. Anyone visiting your profile can use it.
  • Highlights: after posting a link story, tap Highlight and add it to a highlight called “Ask me” or “Q&A”. The Link sticker keeps working inside the highlight.
  • Answer highlights: save your best answered questions to a “Q&A” highlight. It shows new followers what to send.

Tip: Posting somewhere Loomii can’t detect, like a YouTube description or a printed QR code? Add a share tag to the end of your link — ?s=yt or ?s=qr — and hints will show where people found it.

Posting the same link on other apps

The same link works everywhere. Add it to your Instagram bio so it stays up after the story disappears, and share it on Snapchat and WhatsApp status too. Loomii tags where each message came from, so you can see which app your friends use most.
